Project Orthography is a Staff Approved Project.

For anyone wondering what orthography means, it is the set of conventions for writing a language such as norms of spelling, hyphenation, capitalization, word breaks, emphasis, and punctuation. This project will effectively be ensuring that all inactive articles on this wiki are completely readable and use English correctly. Some parts of this will fall under Project Remastered with regards to serious grammar errors, and if you are willing to remaster other stories (currently just the Originals), head over to that project as well. Although promotions based on this project are less certain than other projects, readability is still incredibly important for a wiki that named itself the Stick Library. For any further information on this, please talk to Pax Orderia.

To begin, simply find a random, inactive article or story and read through, checking for any spelling or grammar errors. If there are, click the edit button and rectify their minor mistakes. Since this is a continuous project, there will be no updates on this page to signify edits. If an editor wishes to have their stories or articles proofread for any orthography errors, then they can request this from Pax Orderia on his message wall.

NOTE: Do NOT modify words for only using a different "variant" of English spelling, e.g. British or American spelling. Modifications based solely on this are unacceptable and completely pointless, for example, changing the words "programme" and "honour" to "program" and "honor", so make sure you acquaint yourself with varieties of spelling that exist to ensure that you are not alienating other users who spell in English differently based on their nationality and schooling. The obvious exceptions are with pages that you have created yourself, which you can edit freely (although it is preferable if you remain with a single variant if you are the sole editor), and active stories or active character pages, which should not be edited if any activity by the original writer has occurred on them within the past 4 weeks (unless they have revealed that they are on a temporary leave, in which case, the set period will be extended).
